This right here is the true litmus test. I can understand that for many people in the past (like, maybe a decade or so ago) it was perhaps beneficial to not “create discord” among their families, homes, and churches. Times were a little different then. But, at least for me, all bets were off with the political ascension of the most fundamentally selfish, morally bankrupt, and inept human criminal to ever drag his knuckles across this earth. We live in a different era now, an era that I’ll gladly point out his supporters wanted. So now that we’re here, I have no qualms in saying that silence is complicity. Especially when our entire decmocracy depends on the righteous anger of the moral majority who didn’t vote trump in 2016. Thanks for writing this important and timely piece, James Finn.
