I so much appreciate this. Very well said.

As a white, cis/het woman, I will never know what it feels like to be a person of color pulled over by a cop. I will never personally understand what it feels like to be born in the wrong body. I will never experience what it’s like to be denied service because of my sexual orientation.

But I do have a trans kid. And I do have close people in my life who condemn me for being a public advocate, and I do have close people in my life who proudly voted for Trump. So I have a limited understanding — from a very privileged lens — of a glimpse of what it’s like to live and function and plan your life around public bathrooms because I experience it every day with my trans child as they live it.

I agree with you. Fuck tolerance. Tolerance is merely a euphemism for bigotry.

I wrote a piece on this whole ring wing, conservative, Trumpism notion of “tolerance” here: Hey Trump Supporters: Tolerance of Intolerance Isn’t a Thing.

Thank you for this piece.
