I can appreciate your point, Abe. But part of the whole idea that I think gets missed is that trans and trans non-binary people are not just “self-determining.” They don’t wake up one morning or decide on a whim, “hey, you know what? I’m going to start identifying as a girl.” They are simply living authentically as the gender they’ve always known themselves to be, at their inner most core. Gender, gender identity, and biological sex are three totally different parts of a human, and those 3 things apply to all of us. Being an inanimate object like an “attack helicopter” does not apply to all of us.
