Honey. No one is DEMANDING that you adopt the term. I wrote this piece to merely point out the irony in people getting so upset over a word that accurately defines their own described gender identity (male or female). And trans or non-trans, we ALL have a gender identity. Also, it's "cisgender," not "cisgendered." Cisgender in this context is an adjective, not a verb that can be put in past tense. Just like "transgendered" isn't a word. Nor is "gayed," "straighted," or "heterosexualed." It's totally fine that you hate the term cisgender. You don't have to use it. Oh, and for the record, neither the trans community, nor trans advocates/allies/activists made up the word cisgender. It has been used for a very long time, and across different contexts. Like in chemistry, genetics, and science.
