Exactly! Thank you so much, James. Earlier on Twitter, I’d just posted the news story about security cameras showing Ahmaud Arbery walking through a home under construction, looking around, and how that proves absolutely nothing. It’s ridiculous!!

Many years ago when I lived in a more rural area, I’d walk about 2 miles each morning for daily exercise. We lived close to my parents at the time, so sometimes my Mom would join me. We’d have a great time chatting and walking through the “exciting” brand new development that was going up at the time, the first new neighborhood we’d had in that area since about the 1980s.

I can’t tell you how many times we entered those still-under-construction, unfinished houses just to look around, because we were curious and loved doing that kind of thing. And being two white women, that was never seen by anyone as “suspicious behavior.” If folks can’t see this as privilege, I don’t know what more it will take!
